The Nigerian government through its Ministry of Education has said the January 18 date for schools to resume is not sacrosanct. The government said a new date might be announced depending on the nation’s COVID-19 indicators.   President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday  met with the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum, NGF, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi on the need for local production of Coronavirus vaccines. This is as President Buhari has expressed the willingness to engage Bishops, Chief Imams, top musicians, sports personalities among others in the COVID-19 vaccination in order to remove the doubts of many Nigerians that may be harboring negative opinion on the vaccine. The year 2021 is just starting and we've started seeing wahala and petty scandals... Late last year they was this trend of viral videos showing picture slides of ladies who are tagged 'Olosho' (Prostitutes). According to how it started, it was supposed to show ladies who had gone too far in order to gain favor or attention of Yahoo boys. The people of Taraba weren't left out on this matter. As they was a little spark on social pages of its people, mostly those based in Jalingo (fondly called Jala). On the video it was written, and I quote "I wan marry a Yahoo boy," "Jala urgent 2k girls" IT'S SURELY FROM SOMEBODY WHO WANTED TO INSULT/DISGRACE the victims. This video however was posted through a female account on social media, People are saying her account was hacked, after her DM was flooded by the victims and even trolls raining insults on her. [News]: Nigeria to receive 100,000 doses of vaccines

The Presidential Taskforce, PTF, on COVID-19 has said Nigeria will take delivery of 100,000 doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech approved COVID-19 vaccines by the end of January. Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency NPHCDA, Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this Tuesday at a news briefing by the PTF. He said: “In the first phase through the COVAX facility, we expect to receive approximately 100,000 doses of the Pfizer and bioNtech vaccine by the end of January.” According to him, Nigeria expects to receive free 42 million doses of vaccines in the second phase through the COVAX facility being administered by ten Global Vaccines Alliance, GAVI. “The second phase will be a combination of all the available approved vaccines currently in the market but this will cover only about 20 per cent of Nigeria’s population”, he added.   Lagos State government has fixed January 18 for the resumption of schools for the second term 2020/2021 academic session. The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, in a statement, said all public and private schools below the tertiary level in Lagos should be reopened on the date, advising the authorities to comply with Covid-19 protocols.
